Information: Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has officially released the notification for Class 11 admissions through Lateral Entry for the academic session 2026-27. Interested students who are currently enrolled in Class 10 (academic session 2025-26) can submit their application through the official NVS website navodaya.gov.in from 30th July 2025. The last date to apply online is 2nd August 2025, so students are advised to register without delay.

This admission opportunity is for students who wish to enter Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) directly into Class XI through a competitive selection test.

Age Criteria

To be eligible, the applicant’s date of birth must fall between 1st June 2009 and 31st July 2011 (inclusive of both dates). This age bracket ensures the student is the appropriate age for Class XI entry.

Number of Participating Schools

Admissions are open across 653 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas located in various districts throughout India.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Must be studying in Class 10 during the academic session 2025-26 in a government or government-recognized school, affiliated to CBSE, State Board, or any other recognized board.
  • Students who have already passed Class 10 in a previous session (before 2025-26) are not eligible.
  • The district of schooling must be the same as the district in which the JNV they’re applying for is located.

Class 11 Selection Test Pattern

The NVS Class XI Lateral Entry Selection Test will be conducted offline using OMR-based answer sheets. The paper will be for 2 hours 30 minutes (from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM) and will have 100 multiple-choice questions, one mark each.

Note:

  • The question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi).
