Eligibility Criteria: A Pathway for Special Educators

To apply for this post, candidates must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in general education along with a Diploma in Special Education, or
• A B.Ed in Special Education from an institution recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)

Note: A valid Central Rehabilitation Register (CRR) number issued by RCI is mandatory at the time of application. Applications without this will be rejected.

Age Limit & Relaxation

In a significant relief to eligible candidates, the upper age limit has been relaxed by 10 years. This allows experienced educators who may have crossed the general age criteria to still apply. The aim is to include more competent and skilled professionals who can truly contribute to inclusive education in the state.

Role & Responsibilities of Selected Teachers

Appointed special educators under this recruitment will be posted in classes 1 to 8 in government schools across Bihar. Their responsibilities will include:

• Preparing individualized lesson plans tailored to the needs of children with disabilities
• Offering personalized attention to students as per their learning challenges
• Collaborating with fellow teachers to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
• Maintaining regular communication with parents and guardians
• Submitting periodic progress reports to the education department

Selection Process

While the official selection method is yet to be confirmed, it is expected that the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will handle the recruitment process. The likely methods include:
