Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for NVS Class 9 admission, candidates must fulfill the following conditions:

• District Resident: The applicant must be a bona fide resident of the same district where the JNV is located and must apply only for that JNV.
• Current Schooling: The student must be currently enrolled in Class 8 during the academic session 2025-26 in a government or government-recognized school in the same district.
• Date of Birth: The candidate’s date of birth must fall between 1st May 2011 and 31st July 2013 (inclusive of both dates).

Selection Test Pattern for Class 9 Admission

The Lateral Entry Selection Test for Class 9 will be conducted in offline mode using OMR sheets. The paper will be objective type and designed based on the Class 8 syllabus.

Subjects & Marks Distribution:

🕒 Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes (no break)

Candidates must obtain minimum qualifying marks in all four subjects as per NVS criteria. However, the merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks in Mathematics, General Science, and one language (whichever the student scores more in—English or Hindi).

Language & Exam Centers

• The test will be conducted in English or Hindi, depending on the choice filled during registration.
• The exam center will generally be the JNV of the concerned district or another center allotted by NVS.
• Note: Once the medium of the exam is selected during application, it cannot be changed later.

Important Notes:

• Ensure all information is filled correctly; incomplete forms may be rejected.
• Keep your scanned documents ready: photo, signature, degree certificates, etc.
• Read the official notification thoroughly before applying.
